Lions News Roundup - June 2009
- The Winchelsea clock tower (a project undertaken by Winchelsea Lions some years ago) has had its workings renovated - this has now been completed with the repair of the night-light for the clock faces. The time is now right, and you can see it at night!
- This is a busy time of year for Lions Clubs around Australia, with the change-over of officers at the end of the year of office (July to June, same as the financial year). Many functions and lots of invites around the region.
- Knuckeys of Winchelsea have offered their phone number to be publicised for recycling paper collections. Recycled paper raises significant funds for Winchelsea Lions. Phone 03 5267 2011 to have a stack of recycling paper collected (bundled with string, newspapers and magazines only, Winchelsea township area).
- The Winchelsea Lions agreed to support Darcy Parish, selected to play for Victoria in AFL.
- The Club is to fund in its entirety an electronic piano for the Hesse Rural Health nursing home - Maureen Ludmon (who plays the current old piano for the residents) has recommended a full-stand electronic piano which is light enough to be moved easily, has great sound, and is better than half the price of a classical piano. The piano is to be purchased straight away.

- The Walk to Wurdale event has been rescheduled for the 1st November. More details to come in due course.
- This was Winchelsea Lions President Murray Leak's last 'Business Meeting' for his term of office - Secretary Murray Aisbett thanked Murray on behalf of all members for his work and many contributions during the year, and his guidance of the club. The next meeting is the annual officer hand-over, the evening of 1st July at the Winchelsea Tea Rooms (6:30 for 7:00pm).
