Lions News Roundup - March 2009
- Guest speaker to the March dinner meeting was Simon Copps from Our Women, Our Children Volunteers, which raises tens of thousands of dollars for the Geelong Hospital. At the subsequent March 'business' meeting, Winchelsea Lions agreed to make a donation to their cause.
- Lion Garry Drayton is to host a youth for 9 weeks this August (French or Japanese), as part of an international Lions Youth Exchange Program

A letter of thanks was received from James & Janelle Jacobs, for a food hamper that was provided by Winchelsea Lions as a gesture of support following their family loss due to the bushfires.

The Hesse Hospital dementia unit is expected to be completed very soon, with occupants moving in at the end of May. A visit and tour by Winchelsea Lions is to be investigated, hopefully to be held just before the April business meeting (Wednesday 15th April).
- The Winchelsea Clock Tower is imminently having its workings re-installed after being upgraded to a digital, more accurate mechanism.
- Winchelsea Lions' Chuck Wagon will be at the Dahlia Farms open day the weekend of 21/22 March, running a sausage sizzle.
- The next dinner meeting, on the 1st April, will be held at Roberta's Cottage and will also be a Ladies Night (ie. members plus partners). Kick-off at 7pm.
